The Department of History has global expertise in cultural history, with faculty who research and publish on Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the U.S. Their cross cutting interests include cultural and intellectual history; collective memory and civic identity; gender and cultural studies; as well as popular culture, photography and folklore.
Opportunities for graduate students include the Center for Creative Photography, the Program in Social, Cultural, and Critical Theory, and other related academic programs in Sociocultural Anthropology.
