Environmental History at UA

The University of Arizona has rich resources for the interdisciplinary study of environmental history. Department of History faculty and graduate students actively participate in the university-wide consortium, the Arizona Institute for Resilient Environment and Societies and related academic programs, such as the Environmental Law, Science and Policy Program.

Our tradition of environmental history field courses, include the Southwest Environments Field Institutes for both graduate and undergraduate students, collaborations with regional universities, and the National Endowment for the Humanities 2009 Summer Institute, Nature and History at the Nation's Edge: A Field Institute in Environmental and Borderlands History
